Description of Upgrade Advisor
As you run your doddering old OS, wistful visions of the young and vigorous XP flit through your mind. This diagnostic program tests your Windows system to see if it can run XP Professional. It checks your hardware and software and makes any necessary system updates that could be found at the Windows Update Web site.
Note: Microsoft recommends running Upgrade Advisor while you are connected to the Internet. Furthermore, the tool only checks whether your system will support Windows XP Professional. It is available only for U.S. versions of Windows.
