Strengths: None
Weaknesses: Doesn't work.
Overall Evaluation: I would not recomment this product to anyone trying to recover a partion table from a HDD. I ended up purchasing Partition Table Doctor for 50 $ US and it found my partition with no trouble. I only had to reboot for it to take effect. This program(PC inspector) couldn't even find a file let alone the partition.

Weaknesses: Finds a lot of files that are just 0 byte files
Overall Evaluation: Lost my HDD after "Upgrading" from Vista back to XP. Tested this nifty tool and so far all the pictures that I had lost and all spreadsheets and word documents I was working on were returned with a 90% success rate.Great tool to have when you need it.

Strengths: This program works quickly to recover text data and Microsoft applications; temporary files. I do not know how it does with picture, video or sound files, yet. I recovered a PowerPoint file in the time it takes to open about 3 applications, and it saved well to my desktop. The files are displayed with their file types and the folders they are under. They are easily visible by being shaded in green, different from the everyday icons used to indicate folders and documents. It will recover from flash drives, too, those files that you cannot see once you've recycled them.
Weaknesses: The first drive I searched was my main hard drive (C:). When I tried to exit out of the program, both by "X"-ing out, and by Object-->Exit, it hung up. However, I have been able to open it up properly since without it hanging up.
Overall Evaluation: I say this is a good program, at least to use on small files and Microsoft-type documents.I am pleased with its performance with my first file.

Strengths: It's Free, and it can find your lost files. Just like the previous reviewer we lost all the files in My Documents on my daughter's laptop which contained all her college files and digital camera files, over 8000 files!!! This program was able to find them after I fugure out how to set all the features..
Weaknesses: It has several limitations and settings you MUST set. Took me a week of trial and error to get it right. Worse of all though is It locked up at every opportunity on my XP PC. I had to stop background processes and not do anything at all until this program was done searching. That's not a problem, I just had to figure it out on my own. Sometimes during the saving process it would lock up too. The 2nd biggest weakness is all files found are not saved in their original files size, but in the default file size which wastes ton of disk space. It defaults to around 1.47M, so you have to increase it for larger digital camera files. For some reason this program doesn't figure out the file size.
Overall Evaluation: Works fine if you have only a few files to find, not so good for saving lost files on a 100G or larger hard disk. Took me a over a week to complete finding and saving all files. This program needs a file filter, and be able to determine the size of the lost file.
