Strengths: PC Inspector File Recovery actually does what it says and does it for free. It's extremely easy to use.
Weaknesses: If you ar processing a lot of files at once, the software can generate a memory access violation and then freeze up, requiring the task manager to end it. All you have to do is restart and select the files that it did not get. Also when I first ran it, it did not seem to work. It wasn't displaying any of the logical drives but was showing the physical drives. To make this little beauty work on Vista, run it as an administrator.
Overall Evaluation: Excelent program and by far the best tool seen to date. You delete a file, PC Inspector File Recovery is the ticket!

Strengths: it gets the job done easy to install and easy to use (with a bit of trial & error)
Weaknesses: retrieval is slow sometimes stalls or freezes completely (solution: try again, maybe with a smaller selection)
Overall Evaluation: I'm very happy I found this software and retrieved all directories I accidentally deleted

Strengths: Small and quick. Up and running right away. I read a few comments that other have had problems finding the menues. Just take a look at the left bar tabs and you should find your path in the workflow. Simple for me.
Weaknesses: Some times it hangs with a memory error when saving lost files into another drive.. You can bypass the problem by just copying fewer files at a time.
Overall Evaluation: I have just recovered a smaller pice, just under 1gb with 100 files or so. Haven't tested the app in bigger environments. But it seems great for small issues on a laptop for instance.
