Editor's Review of iTunes
If you haven't already downloaded iTunes, what are you waiting for? At this point, iTunes has grown up considerably and lets you manage music and video files in countless ways. And iTunes' ease of use is second to none.
Although Apple makes iTunes, the Windows version works almost identically to the Mac version. Among its features: It connects to an iPod to sync music, lets you burn CDs directly from the software, shares music over a local network, and streams Internet radio. The most recent addition to the software, as of this writing, is a Preferences tab for setting up Apple TV, which streams video in your iTunes library to your TV.
The iTunes Store can be counted as one of the most legal and restrictive music software and media-download programs, but the video and music downloads are almost always high-quality and quick, even if they will cost you. iTunes is free--it's the iTunes Store where you'll rack up the charges.
