Strengths: Simple and complete backup of important files. Emails you when you have a failure during backup.
Weaknesses: No major complaints so far.
Overall Evaluation: I have used several commercial (Ghost, Retrospect) and free backup programs in the past. My biggest complaint was their complexity and code size. They ran slowly and did not always complete backups due to issues. Sometimes, since they didn't warn you a backup had failed, I found I was unprotected for quite sometime before I figured out the backups had stopped. Cobian is truly a simple backup program, but full featured and complete at least for my needs. I have dumped Ghost, Retrospect and other free programs for Cobian. It has full, differential and incremental backup support. Its main feature that most programs commercial or otherwise don't support is the Windows Volume Shadow Copy feature. This allows a copy of all open files to be made and then safely copied. This is a *big* deal to me. I want to schedule backups to occur and don't want to have to shut down all open programs first. This feature safely copies Outlook PST and Quicken files will those programs are open. I am a real user and not trying to "sell" you anything. I rarely post on forum. Give this program a try.

Strengths:
Weaknesses: I've been using Roxio Backup My PC which is very simple to use. I downloaded this product and for the life of me couldn't figure out all the complicated directions. Backing up is a simple procedure; I shouldn't have to read pages and pages of help. I uninstalled it!
Overall Evaluation: Yuck! I'm going to try something else.
