Description of Folder Lock

Folder Lock® is a fast data encryption and password protection software for Windows. It can simultaneously encrypt, lock and password protect your files, folders, drives, USB drives and even CD/DVD-RW.Folder Lock creates encrypted storages called 'Lockers'. You can keep as many of your private files & folders in your Locker and password protect it with a single click. You can transfer, secure and backup these Lockers. Lockers are portable, you can keep them in USB Flash Drives, CD/DVD (R-RW), & notebooks or transfer them via email or upload. Lockers are even undeletable on the computer where Folder Lock is installed.You can treat Lockers just as you would treat them in physical world. Each user can have their own Locker. However, a single user can create multiple Lockers with different passwords as well. With Folder Lock, you can choose either to encrypt using 256-bit AES on-the-fly encryption or lock files, folders and drives anywhere on your computer. Each Locker can contain your encrypted files as well as your personal list of locked items. Furthermore, Folder Lock's options like hack attempt monitoring, stealth mode, data shredding, history cleaning and auto protection can enhance data security beyond anything ever achieved. In addition, a locker's delete, move and rename are password protected to prevent data loss. Folder Lock is Windows Vista / 2003 / XP / 2000 compatible and is the most downloaded File Security program in the market today.

  Duration of ownership: 10 Months

  Strengths: This app is very useful and easy to use, it has many features that will help anyone to obtain the best security level very easily.

  Weaknesses: Nothing negative

  Overall Evaluation: Just got impressed by the speed of the encryption it provides and that compelled me to write something about it. I have never used any software that protect files this quickly. Locking works simply by dragging/dropping and encryption is just like copying files from one drive to another. Recommended for those who are looking for high security with speed.

  Strengths: Great Application For My Files!

  Weaknesses: None

  Overall Evaluation: I don't know much about giving opinions on software, for me its excellent because it helps protect my data the way I want. I use lock files to save accidental deletion of data from my kids at home and use the encryption thingy to strongly protect my crucial data when I am at work. I guess this is what every software should be like, easy simple and reliable. For my side 10/10

  Weaknesses: No bugs No problem in fact the latest version is so helpful to me

  Overall Evaluation: Beside the top performance of this product I was extremely please with the support I received from the Manager of Customer Support Mrs. Roosevelt when I ran into some questions and she took me step by step until I solve all my questions.

  Weaknesses: Beware !!! Free version expires in less than a week leaving files locked. A overpriced subscription must be purchased to retrieve locked files.

  Overall Evaluation: The trial version is a scam. No help from support or phone number to contact. A total ripoff

  Duration of ownership: 8 Months

  Strengths: I have been using Folder Lock for about six months now. I have tried numerous encryption tools and have found that Folder Lock is the only one that works on any Windows platform. This feature makes it ideal for using on a USB drive. The program is also very easy to use and has an attractive interface.

  Weaknesses: There is one feature that I don't like. Folder Lock has a function called "Hacker Attempts" which logs incorrect passwords. The most recent release of Folder Lock, as of this posting, allows the user to disable this function. But if the function is not disabled it will log all of your incorrectly spelled passwords. They are stored in plain text in the Windows registry.

  Overall Evaluation: Having said that, I still think that Folder Lock is a good program. I think everyone who is curious about his data security must try Folder Lock

  Duration of ownership: 5 Months

  Strengths: Locking and on-the-fly Encryption and complete data security. I encrypt 3GBs of my personal data within seconds.

  Weaknesses: I didn't find any thing wrong in this software. in fact the latest version helped me more because now i can customize options according to my needs

  Overall Evaluation: Before buying I installed its trial version on my vista operating system and ran it 25times to check it, I didn’t find any difficulty or incompatibility. It works smoothly that made me to buy its full version for unlimited use.
