Editorial Review of Password Safe

Web browsers like Internet Explorer and Firefox are pretty good at remembering and entering your login name and password at sites you visit often. But they don't always work with every Web login page, and not every login happens in a Web page. Password Safe stores your login data in a password-protected, encrypted file you unlock whenever you need access to your stored login information. At the very least, Password Safe lets you manually cut and paste user names and passwords from its database into Web pages and applications, and is a great place to store any sensitive information.

But you can use the Password Safe's Auto Type feature to log you in to programs and sites automatically, and customize Auto Type to work around non-standard screens where default automatic logins fail.

Note: This program is donationware. It is free to try, but the author accepts and encourages donations towards further development.
