    Duration of ownership: 1 Years

    Strengths: none

Weaknesses: Freezes my computer. Takes forever to boot up when I set it up to start when my computer starts.

Overall Evaluation: When it expired, it not only stopped downloading new definition, but also stopped removing spyware when detecting any. Not like other anti-virus programs and anti-spyware programs which would still remove malware even though new definition would not be downloaded. I would never buy anything from PC Tools any more.

    Duration of ownership: 1 Months

    Strengths: None

Weaknesses: Freezes up my XP computer or makes it work unbelievably slow. I can't use it on my Windows vista 64 PC at all, unless I want to use a beta version.

Overall Evaluation: I'm really sorry I purchased this product, I purchased the right to put it on 3 PC's. It locks up my XP computer, and even though it's advertised for Vista when I tried to install it, a screen popped up and said it's not Vista 64 bit compatable. When I emailed PC Doctor to ask them what I can do about this I was told to wait until the Vista 64 version comes out in a couple of months and then install it. In the meantime my XP computer has all but choked and died using this program to the point I've had to remove it. So I'm out the purchase price and still looking for reliable Anti spyware.

    Duration of ownership: 11 Months

    Strengths: None

Weaknesses: Buying this makes you feel like a rube when you realize you've been duped.

Overall Evaluation: If you allow yourself to be tricked into purchasing this, you will be billed annually, even if you unsubscribe. I ran the "free trial" which scanned my system and told me I had dozens of serious threats. Had to buy the thing to clean my system. Purchased, installed and reran the scan. No threats detected. (Bait and switch style sleaze-ery.) Not only that, but the program itself leaves rubbish all over your OS, and my system gradually ground to a halt. My hard drive would run CONTINUOUSLY the entire time the system was on. Removing this program was also problematic and probably still haunts me today. Worse still is they tried to bill my visa even though I unsubscribed. Now if someone had a different experience please feel free to correct me, but as far as I'm concerned this is a case for the BBB.

    Duration of ownership: 12 Months

Strengths: Has a good reputation for detection, seems OK to me.

Weaknesses: Not a good friend. Grabs the system and paralyzes it during start up. Slower than slow. After update, won't run until system re-booted.

Overall Evaluation: It may do a good job, but it has to be a little more friendly. This business of plonking the welcome message in the middle of the screen, not being able to minimize it or move it just kills the whole system. And, it takes one very long time to get its act together. Then, after updating, it will not execute until system is re-booted. No matter how good a job it does, it is just too much of a pain to live with.

    Weaknesses: Impossible to remove

Overall Evaluation: Installed this thing, locked up my system. Tried to uninstall it, but it left traces of its garbage all throughout the registry. DO NOT USE.
