Description of Phish Net
Phishing scams have grown sophisticated, using e-mail and Web sites that efficiently imitate those of legitimate businesses. Phish Net protects you from scams and identity theft. To start, you enter your confidential information (such as partial credit card, Social Security, and bank account numbers) in a secure vault on Phish Net. When you submit any of this information to a business online, Phish Net checks this information against your vault content and points out that you're about to submit confidential information.
Phish Net also employs a regularly updated blacklist of known phishing sites. If you visit one of these (often very persuasive) scam sites, Phish Net will refuse any Web navigation from the bogus site.
Note: This is beta software. Use at your PC's own risk.
