Description of GMail Drive

Google's GMail gives you a hefty 1000 megabytes of storage--more than most of us need for e-mail. GMail Drive lets you turn your GMail account into file storage. This shell namespace extension creates a virtual file system on top of your GMail account. You can copy files to and from the GMail Mail Drive folder by dragging and dropping, just as you would with any other drive.

Note: The GMail service is a Google product, and GMail Drive is not. Changes to the GMail service may make GMail Drive unusable.

  Duration of ownership: 1 Days

  Strengths: I liked the addition to the windows explorer for easy access without showing all my emails as well

  Weaknesses: poor link on the pcworld site, goto the hompage to get the most current version and avoid the "unable to login" message. Somewhat slow in adding the files as well.

  Overall Evaluation: a handy tool to take advantage of the space on my gmail account.

  Strengths: As the above user said, the concept is great. I thought it would be even easier to use than Gmail Space, which I currently use.

  Weaknesses: As the above poster said, it could not log me into Gmail, and I kept getting an error message.

  Overall Evaluation: If they fix the login problem, this would be an excellent program.

  Strengths: Concept.

  Weaknesses: Would not log me in. Would not work.

  Overall Evaluation: It kept returning an error on my username or password. I could log into Gmail just fine through my browser, but not once via the GMail Drive. Would be a great service if it worked.
