Jared was one of the earliest Internet "meme-ware" programs--the kind of software whose popularity grew as it was forwarded from person to person through email in the mid 1990s. The program simply plays a recording of a man singing a Guatemalan folk song called Luna de Xelaju, but once you listen to the file, you'll understand why they called Jared "El Carnicero de Canciones" (The Butcher of Songs) in Guatemala.
