Usenet newsgroups introduce you to breaking news, thoughtful discussion, and like-minded people (and to a few people you mind very much), plus their accompanying videos, MP3s, and images. TIFNY Usenet Newsreader filters and catalogs media files in newsgroups, letting you decide which ones merit a closer look and which ones you don't even want to see.
