Description of TweakMaster Basic
Though it's difficult to know the exact cause of sluggish downloads, Tweakmaster can help ensure that the problem doesn't stem from your computer's settings. It walks you through some recommended settings when you first use the program; you can then adjust them until your connection is optimal. Your connection is also sped up by TweakMaster's DNS caching abilities--the program saves the numerical address of the sites you've visited so that it doesn't have to translate the name into its numerical address each time.
TweakMaster also allows you to perform regularly scheduled updates to your PC's clock from Internet time servers. You can schedule these updates daily or weekly if you like, or perform them manually at any time to keep your PC synced. This application can also be set to automatically answer "Yes" when AOL asks if you'd like to remain online.
The professional version of TweakMaster includes a network monitor utility that helps optimize your Internet connection. It is $37.95. Both versions are available below.
