Challenge players from around the globe to more than 280 games ranging from hard-core actioners like Rainbow Six to classic board and strategy games.
GameSpy Arcade's Player Matching feature allows you to instantly search for other players who are currently online and own the game you want to play. One click sends prospective opponents an invitation to throw down. For dedicated-server games (like Quake and Half-Life), Arcade provides you with complete listings of thousands of games to join and you can sort the list by game type, map, and ping. It keeps a list of your buddies, and even shows you where they're hanging out in the application. If they're in a particular room, just click on that location to be taken there. You can also send instant messages to your buddies.
Also included is its DemoSpy feature, which locates and sorts the thousands of demos currently available--find a demo you want, click on it, and the GameSpy Arcade Download Manager takes over.
