Editorial Review of PolyMorph3D

Imagine a cross between a fireworks show and a fractal generator, and you'll come close to what WeiserWare's PolyMorph3D has to offer. Swirling patterns materialize from points of light and come toward you or recede into the black background. You can also set the program to "ball" mode, so that patterns involve upon themselves. There are no sound effects to distract from the show. PolyMorph3D is easy to install--just run the executable file. It installs itself and opens Windows' Display Properties box. Clicking Settings lets you adjust a multitude of parameters, including which pattern to start with (there are seven in all), how long each pattern should run, the speed at which the pattern changes, the number of light trails produced, and more. The trial version includes nag screens and text messages that explain how you can use function keys to tweak the program. Registering the program for $13 removes those distractions.
