Description of RegClean

This utility cleans your Registry of unnecessary entries that were created when you installed or uninstalled programs on your computer. This release of the utility fixes a few problems and creates an "undo.reg" file so that you can undo changes you inadvertently make to the Registry.

Note: Although this program still works, it is no longer supported by Microsoft.

  Overall Evaluation: I have a business and I understand how damaging this kind of review can be; I don't make these comments lightly! I purchased four downloads for four separate computers in Dec 07. I began to have problems opening and using RegClean almost immediately. After months of extremely sluggish technical support and following their very cumbersome and complicated instructions in order to repair it, this software didn't really do what it claimed to do, and now it doesn't even run anymore. RegClean will not returm my money because it has been too long after the purchase even though I have worked with them on the problem from the beginning. I have been working on software since 1971; RegClean is one of the worst.

  Overall Evaluation: This download dumped several trojans and virus onto my comp, which is now totally messed up, it also is not free they "detect"...ie put in viruses so you have to pay to get them taken out, thanks to these people I now own a 2000 dollar piece of junk

  Strengths: Ease of use.

  Weaknesses: Lack of info regarding which fixes are to be applied. Can't select entries to skip. Have to undo all corrections.

  Overall Evaluation: One sweep and my system boots up like the first day I got it. Another product's trial version nearly locked up my system after scanning it. Would have rated RegClean as Superior, but lacks some desirable options.
