Editorial Review of Free Internet Eraser
Free Internet Eraser is a simple-to-use freebie that safeguards your privacy by erasing traces of your Windows surfing and more. It deletes your Internet Explorer browser history, cache files, cookies, Address Bar history, and more. In addition, it cleans out traces left behind by other programs, such as Wordpad, and Windows Media Player.
Be aware that by default, it deletes your Internet Explorer cookies, something you might not want to do, because some cookies are useful. So click the Browsers tab, and uncheck the box next to Erase Cookies, if you'd like to keep them.
Although Free Internet Eraser does a nice job, it doesn't go far enough. It won't, for example, clean out traces left behind by Firefox. So you may want to use a more comprehensive cleaning program that cleans Firefox as well as Internet Explorer, such as CCleaner.
