Editorial Review of Turbo Photo
Turbo Photo is a low-cost, comprehensive photo editor package suitable for beginner to intermediate level users. Its automated tools can rapidly clean up pictures that would otherwise have unrecoverable defects.
In many ways, this is just another not-particularly-remarkable photo editor package. Sure, it does just about everything you might need--including lossless manipulation of RAW images, batch processing, creation of photo galleries, and a variety of cleanup tools--but so do so many other editor applications. Among its few distinctive features, the Multi-Shot Anti-Shake and Turbo Sharpen technology seems the most promising: If you have multiple blurry or otherwise undesirable photos of the same object, the program digitally compares the images together to come up with a single, sharper version of the image with improved contrast. If you typically keep your camera set to multi-shot mode and take lots of "safety" shots, this can help with those low-light, handheld pictures you just can't seem to get right the first time.
The company provides one year of free updates (which translates to about six point-releases) for the $29 version; A separate $59 version guarantees you free updated for the life of the product.
