Where in the world is your data going? If you're looking to analyze and identify the source of Internet connectivity problems, or you just want to identify the geographical location of an IP address, try this utility. VisualRoute offers a map of the world that shows you the routes your IP packets take as you use the Internet. You can zoom in and out of the map locations, and clicking on a server or network name opens a pop-up window with information such as the name, telephone number, and e-mail address of the owner. The analysis window displays the number of hops, where problems occurred, and the type of Web server software running at the site you are trying to reach.
