Description of Abtrusion Protector
Abtrusion Protector protects computers by allowing only safe software to run. Contrary to the typical anti-virus scanner, Abtrusion Protector does not attempt to recognize viruses or other malicious software. Instead, Abtrusion Protector keeps track of software that has been safely installed on the computer it protects. No other software is allowed to run. This provides a very efficient protection against most types of viruses and hacker attacks. Whenever new software is installed on the computer, Abtrusion Protector can record and automatically allow all new files that are installed. Abtrusion Protector can also be set-up to automatically allow digitally signed software from trusted software vendors. In a corporate network, Abtrusion Protector can be managed at a central site. Abtrusion Protector verifies all kinds of executable files, including OCX controls, device drivers, 16-bit files and dynamic link libraries.
