The scenario: Your screen is showing something particularly attractive, and you want to print it out. You don't want to animate it, save it in seventeen digital formats, or e-mail it to everyone in your address book; you just want what's showing onscreen on a piece of paper. The Print Screen key is either not working or assigned to some other program. PrintDeskTop is your solution.
This tiny program installs quickly on your PC, ready to spring into service when you summon it from your Start Menu. Activate PrintDeskTop, and it shows you a screen saying it's printing. Then it shows you a screen saying it has printed, and lo and behold, there's your desktop's twin on your printer. That's it.
If you want to make this even easier, you can set a key combo for PrintDeskTop. The vendor's instructions say: "Click Start->All Programs->PrintDeskTop, Now, right-click the PrintDeskTop icon and then click Properties. In the Properties dialog's Shortcut tab, click inside the "Shortcut key:" box and then click Ctl+Alt+p (if you want the recommended shortcut key). Finally, click OK." I tried it, and it worked like a charm.
