Description of Remote Ping Monitor
Ping Monitor is used for trouble shooting TCP/IP connected computers.The program allows the user to create a list of IP addresses then periodically pings each computer and check TCP service ports at a user specified time interval. If the host computer fails to reply to a ping or service request, the program can trigger different alert messages and alarms; including e-mail, run third-party programs, send an alphanumeric page, or communicate over the network to a remote computer. Also, the program can perform a full traceroute and who is domain name search to assist in identifying which network node is causing the bottleneck. Additionally, the program displays a time and date stamp of the minimum, maximum, average, and standard deviation of a ping Round-Trip Times (RTT). Also, the program provides real-time graphing of up to 10 host computers. The program runs as minimized system tray program.
