Strengths: Good effort, new features, tabs (!)
Weaknesses: Breaks lots of sites, counterintuitive interface redesign
Overall Evaluation: This is a good start by Microsoft. The new version of this venerable browser has tabs, a search box, and a new rendering engine. However, these changes, particularly the new rendering engine, could stand for a little rethinking. The tab controls are less than intuitive, and the new rendering engine breaks many sites, including USA.net webmail. Try to compose a message, and you risk disasters from merely typing in the wrong place to losing your entire draft of a message. Think carefully before you let Microsoft force you to update your IE.
