Duration of ownership: 3 Days
Strengths: Wonderful interface. Easy to learn. Has many features. Reasonably priced.
Weaknesses: Fails to encrypt or hide anything. Merely tweaks XP settings so you, the user can't see your files. Disabled my Windows Movie Maker.
Overall Evaluation: I got curious when Folder Lock did a 256-bit encryption on a 1 GB file in 3 seconds. Seemed impossible so I poked around my hard drive and find the files intact. All it does is tweak XP search, Windows Explorer, DOS Command line, etc. so the files appear to be hidden. I pulled my hard drive and connected it externally to another machine and Search found all the so-called encrypted files. This product is illegitimate and a complete farce. Company was kind enough to instantly refund my payment though.
