  Duration of ownership: 14 Days

  Strengths: The user interface/graphics is/are excellent. The quality of the audio and video in the resulting compressed file is excellent ... WHEN IT WORKS.

  Weaknesses: It's expensive, at $45, and I found that the program is unable to decode the most recent DVD releases (in my case, Shrek The Third (2007) and Ratatouille (2007). The program froze while trying to read the disc for chapter/title info; you never get to start ripping; followed by freeze-up of my entire computer and "hard reboot" to restart. The response of their "customer service" to this glaring defect in their decoding algorithm was to call these ridiculously popular and ubiquitous DVD releases "non-standard" DVDs; tell me to "try another DVD," and "have a nice day." They refused/ignored my requests for a refund.

  Overall Evaluation: If I knew at the time I bought the full version of this product what I was getting, I would never have wasted my money on this software. It is overpriced, and it's my belief that the decoding algorithm(s) used is/are outdated. The company will neither acknowledge the defect, nor refund your money upon being told of your unhappiness with it. As an aside, I found that the trial version of Apollo Multimedia's "#1 DVD Ripper" was able to rip the same titles that the ImToo product could not, and the full version of the Apollo program costs $10 less than DVD Ripper Platinum.
