Editorial Review of IconCool Studio Pro
IconCool Studio 5 with IconCool Mixer is the advanced program in
the IconCool Suite, and goes far beyond IconCool
Editor . It has a much wider range of icon graphics editing,
animation, and manipulation tools compared to the basic editor.
One highly useful feature allows Studio to become a plugin for Adobe Photoshop. That way, users can use a program they're familiar with for some editing tasks, and switch over to the plugin for icon-specific editing tools and features.
Though you can buy IconCool Studio 5 separately, for an additional $20, you can buy the Pro version which has IconCool Mixer included. This utility allows non-graphical experts to mix provided elements together to create icons from scratch. This is an important addition for those not inclined to get down to the gritty pixels when creating icons.
Because it's not much more money, and includes the simple IconCool Mixer, those who wish to edit lots of icons may want to bypass the entry-level IconCool Editor and go straight for this program--and perhaps pick up IconCool Manager to help them organize their icon collections.
Note: This is a 30-day demo version. Upgrading provides access to 500 royalty-free Vista icons and 300 royalty-free elements for use with IconCool Mixer. The vendor did not give details of any other differences.
