Editorial Review of BatchPhoto Lite

BatchPhoto is designed to work with several photos at once, letting you edit, resize, and rename the files--even apply special effects. Useful online tutorials teach you the basics as well as advanced processes, though the wizard-based interface is simple to use.

With BatchPhoto Lite you can resize and rename image files and perform a few edits; the program works with .jpg, .png, .bmp, .gif, and .pcx. This program is fairly limited in scope, but costs only $20.

More advanced versions--BatchPhoto Home and Pro--add more functionality, letting you crop and rotate photos, do more advanced editing such as fixing color balance, and work with a larger range of file formats. The Home version is $30; Pro is $50.

This free preview version of BatchPhoto Lite is useful for resizing and renaming photos, but the preview function is not available--so its editing features aren't terribly helpful.
