Description of PPPshar Pro
This program lets several computers connected by a LAN access the Web, FTP, e-mail, and IRC simultaneously and independently. The lite version (ppplite.exe) allows up to five concurrent users. This version includes access control for specific IP addresses, ping and trace route support, and bug fixes.
Setting up a home network shouldn't require a computer science degree. PPPshar is a tiny (131KB) proxy server with Internet sharing software that enables you to share a single Internet connection among several computers in a network. It supports dial-up, ISDN, ADSL, cable modem, and satellite connections. In addition to sharing access to the Web and multiple e-mail accounts, you can also use FTP, UseNet, IRC, and instant messaging applications, among others. Security features let you deny access to specific IP addresses, as well as allow or deny specific file types.
