Editorial Review of Happy Farm

This screen saver displays a 3-D animation of a peaceful farm scene, complete with cows, horses, bright red chickens, and a tiny farm house. Realistic bird songs and periodic moos provide a soothing accompaniment. Happy Farm's animation is fairly crude--the animals are chunky and their movements aren't quite natural, and textures like tree leaves shimmer oddly--but on the whole it's amusing.

Installation is simple--just click the executable file and follow the prompts. Somewhat annoyingly, the program adds icons for Happy Farm and its maker Arcade Game Studio to your desktop without asking. The settings dialog box lets you toggle the sound on and off, and register the product, but that's it.

Registration removes the nag screens that pop up every few minutes and gives you lifetime technical support and free upgrades.
