Editorial Review of RootkitRevealer

RootkitRevealer was among the first rootkit detectors on the scene. With this high-powered program, you can find rootkits on your system.

Installing RootkitRevealer is simple; just run the .exe. However, it's intended for security professionals and may not be as user-friendly as other programs. When it's running, it's best not to touch the keyboard or mouse. In fact, it's best to turn off programs that might start up (screensavers, antivirus tools, and so forth) before beginning your scan.

It's important to understand that RootkitRevealer is a detector only; it doesn't actually remove rootkits.
