Strengths: Good-looking and easy-to-use interface! Can create plugins for infinite effects. FREE!!

Overall Evaluation: This is a great program. It has almost all the functionality and features of an expensive graphic design program. I would recommend this to any beginner graphic designer.

Strengths: Everything. Its user interface, performance, effects, tools, support for layers, size, file support, and troubleshooting forum. All of Paint.NET's features work in beautiful harmony.

    Weaknesses: Absolutely Nothing.

Overall Evaluation: I love Paint.NET. It has all of the features you need in a small but powerful package. Once upon a time [about a year ago], I was a GIMP user. It was a decent editor, but I only used it a few times until I got fed up with it's horrible user interface and slow performance. Once I started using Paint.NET, I got more and more into image editing. Now I'm addicted to it. I've never loved a computer program as much as I do Paint.NET-- not even for Firefox. Sing the praises of Paint.NET!

Strengths: This open-source graphics application does much, much more than MS Windows Paint. I call it the poor man's Photoshop. It's relatively simple and fun to use. There is a large community of experienced users that keep adding to the product.
