Editorial Review of VistaBootPro

Here's another tool for hacking multiboot menus, and even more about the way that Vista starts up. It's more powerful than EasyBCD, with plenty more options. A particularly nice feature is that it lets you back up all your boot information --- called the BCD store --- before you begin making any changes. That way, it's easy to restore your system should things go awry.

With this program, you'll be able to change the order of the boot menu that appears when your PC starts; set any operating system to be the default; rename any of your operating system list entries; and change the amount of time the menu displays before you boot into your default operating system. There's more as well, including quite a few esoteric options, such as debugging the boot process, enabling or disabling the boot GUI mode, allowing or disallowing the use of unsigned drivers in the 64-bit version of Windows Vista, and similar options.

Note: This link takes you to the vendor's site, where you can download the latest version of the software.
