Editor's Review of Solway's Internet TV and Radio Player
Solway's Internet TV and Radio Player is a free tool you can use to tune in Internet radio and TV broadcasts. Click the station name you want to listen to and it will start to play. You don't have to navigate to a web page first. The program sets up easily and comes prepared with dozens of radio stations from all over the world.
I listened to George Orwell's 1984 on Oneword, a British radio station focusing on spoken-word recordings. Then I switched to a music station in Ireland. I found it easy to add my favorite Internet radio stream to the list of stations.
I didn't have as much luck tuning in TV broadcasts. I could get only a few of the pre-set stations to play properly, and when I tried to add other stations, I couldn't get those to work, either. I don't necessarily blame the program, however. I've tried other Internet TV players and had similar issues. Internet TV is still more of a novelty than a dependable technology. But stay tuned, because that will change. --Leigh Anne Jones
