    Duration of ownership: 0 Months

    Strengths: lightweight

    Weaknesses:

    Overall Evaluation: "If it doesn't include real-time virus protection, then why on earth are you recommending it?" I'll tell you why -- it does real-time email checking, and it allows you to manually check files you have downloaded. Real-time scanning is a HUGE resource hog. Ever wonder why your computer is so slow? It's your anti-virus software!

    Duration of ownership: 4 Months

    Strengths: Has caught a lot of viruses that AVG did not. Easy to use.

    Weaknesses: Scheduled Scans have trouble running at scheduled times. It seems to forget whether it should run in AM or PM. The schedule interface is not easy to use, as it is not easy to specify areas of the drive to scan. Setup of scheduled scans way too complex and telling it to avaid some files is a real trick.

    Overall Evaluation: It works much better than AVG or PANDA which I had used for many years. This is a newer program and some bugs are still being worked out. But it is a usable program and I have installed it on client computers and it has saved many a BUTT!!!

    Duration of ownership: 2 Years

    Strengths: As part of Spyware Terminator it combines antivirus and plus real time protection for free. Uses little in the way of system resources and works well with other security programs. This package also includes autoupdating which has worked well.

    Weaknesses: Somewhat slow load time for individual file scan.

    Overall Evaluation: Antivirus/antispyware and realtime protection for free - wheres the complaint?

    Weaknesses: There is one drawback to the program, though: It doesn't include real-time virus protection.
