If you're using Vista Home Premium, you're missing out on the
backup program built into Vista Ultimate. That utility lets you
make images that exactly duplicate a disk or partition, byte for
byte. Through it you can easily restore a failed disk with the
operating system, files, and settings running as they did before
the crash. An unpolished-but-free way to add this feature to Vista
Home Premium is DriveImage XML from Runtime Software.

Strengths: Works on XP and Server 2003 as well as Vista Allows full drive backups for free
Weaknesses: Ugly as homemade sin
Overall Evaluation: Being listed as a vista program, i was surprised to find that it worked on XP and Server 2003 as well. It allows file backups and restores as well as full drive backups and restores. Ideal for home users and SMB's I've been a long time user of Runtime Software's GetDataBack, a most excellent data recovery program. So when i saw this for free, I jumped on it. Runtime, as usual, has a good program to offer.
