Editorial Review of Actual Search & Replace

We've all searched for and replaced text in our spreadsheets and word processing documents, but we're limited to working on one file at a time. Actual Search & Replace lets you do this most basic of computer chores on multiple files, searching your hard drive (or a select folder) for any file containing the offending text string so you can turn it into something else.

DivlocSoft's $30 shareware program lets you search by phrase, all of the entered words, any of the entered words, or by using a Google-like syntax. It displays the names of found files, info on them, and the search string in context. You can replace the found text, or insert the new text before or after it.

You can even automate the process by creating projects.
