Express Burn is a free cd burning program for Windows that lets you create and record audio and data CDs under Windows. With Express Burn you can record a data or audio discs quickly and easily by dragging the files you want onto the icon and clicking Burn CD. The software then does the rest, including converting the files if required. Express Burn is also the fastest CD/DVD writing program in the world using proprietary optimizing systems. Burn Plus includes Video DVD authoring, the ability to burn Data DVDs, HD-DVDs and Blu-ray Discs. It has advanced features like the ability to create and record ISO images and support for many more file formats (the basic version only supports wav and mp3 for audio discs). Includes command line operation for automation and integration with other programs.

  Duration of ownership: 2 Months

  Strengths: Easy to use, burns CD TEXT to audio CDs. The "Volume Normalization" is adjustable - it "compresses" the lows and highs to the pre-determined level - that works well.

  Weaknesses: Downloads other programs in order to run supplemental programs. I needed to register, and pay $$$, in order to burn a data DVD. However, after you've written files to a DATA DVD, you can't append files to it - the disc can no longer be written to.

  Overall Evaluation: Doesn't take much memory to run, burning an audio CD or writing to a data DVC is quick and easy.

  Duration of ownership: 2 Weeks

  Strengths: It easily burns cracked DVD ISO files made by AnyDVD. Some of the expensive burning suites balk at burning cracked iso files.

  Weaknesses: Haven't found any!!!

  Overall Evaluation: I use to burn all my cracked DVD iso files. It's fast & very easy to use.
