I know a freebie that turns your Windows key into a super-shortcut.
Clavier is a small utility that lets you create Windows-key
combinations for opening virtually any program, pasting short
strings of text, and other operations. For instance, I created
custom shortcuts that start my e-mail program and Microsoft Word.
Other key combinations I devised shut down Windows, turn my PC?s
volume up or down, and pick up the dry cleaning. (Kidding about the
laundry.)
Note: This program is donationware. It is free to try, but
the author accepts and encourages donations towards further
development.

Note from developer: Clavier+ is compatible with Vista.
However, the "launch at Windows startup" option may not work on
some Vista configurations, due to security restrictions.
