  Weaknesses: Unable to install. Hangs up.

  Strengths: Keeps you from receiving any e-mail

  Weaknesses: It can't tell spam from legitimate e-mail

  Overall Evaluation: It identified over 90% of the mail I receive as spam. Including mail from friends, Yahoo groups I belong to, PC World. If there's any benefit to this software, I couldn't find it.

  Strengths: - Screens mail before it is downloaded into your inbox. - Handles multiple POP and IMAP accounts. - Incredibly flexible configuration with large number of filters that use various methods. - Open platform allows filters written by third parties and users. - Includes bayesian filter for learning. - Ongoing version improvement. - Responsive user forum.

  Weaknesses: - Setup can be confusing. - This degree of power and flexibility best suited to knowledeable users.

  Overall Evaluation: For those who like a powerful, configurable spam filter, Spami can't be beat. For those wanting it all done for them, best to look elsewhere. For knowledgeable users, this free spam filter is very highly recommended.

  Strengths: It downloads quickly

  Weaknesses: YPops and (possibly) Gmail Notifier users have to change ports in their email client for the software to work.

  Overall Evaluation: If you use a program like YPops or Gmail Notifier, Spamihilator wants you to change ports not only in Spamihilator, but in your email client also. It's not something the average computer user knows how to do. And those that do probably don't want to be bothered doing it.
