Editorial Review of Roxio Crunch for Windows

Roxio Crunch compresses the videos into iPod-ready movie files. While free alternatives exist, Crunch is well worth its price tag for its simplicity and its intuitive interface. DVDs often include many video files, so Crunch shows you preview frames of each one to help you find what you're looking for. You can also use the length information to help identify the main video.

Choose the correct format for your iPod in the pop-up window. iPod Standard is a good option for most video-capable iPods. Depending on your PC's speed and the length of the movie, the video will take an hour or two to encode.
