Editorial Review of WeFi

Download this free program to see how wireless networking meets social networking. It's a great way not just to find hot spots and connect to them, but also to connect with existing friends and make new ones. WeFi will show you all the nearby hot spots to which you can connect, including whether it's an encrypted or open network, and its signal strength. Double click any to connect to it. In addition to seeing the hot spots in the client, you can also see all nearby hot spots on a map on a Web page.

If you want to see people who are connected to hot spots near you, click the People tab, and you'll see a list of people nearby. You can then get more information about any of them, and get in touch with them as well. In addition, the software also makes it easy for you to upload information about the hot spots you've found, and add them to the site's maps.

Note: This link takes you to the vendor's site, where you can download the latest version of the software.
