The downside to Noise Cradle is that it's not so simple to use or understand. It's not rocket science, but the flowchart style editor that lets you add FX and media would be a lot easier to pick up if the tool tips did more than mimic the labels you already see, or there were right-click context menus that presented the appropriate options. As it stands, you'll have to spend a fair amount of time at the Noise Cradle Web site (there's no local help file) deciphering tutorials that assume a fair amount of knowledge and bandy about unexplained terms like "nodes" and "graphs".
The personal version of Noise Cradle costs 25 pounds sterling (50 US dollars at time of this writing) and removes the nag dialog found in the free version. In the end, I give Noise Cradle the nod for results with a big caveat in re learning curve and usability. Basically, it's for serious visualization artists only.--Jon L. Jacobi
