Description of DiskSurvey
DiskSurvey is a shareware MS-Windows application for surveying a disk's space usage. This program will scan a node (a drive or directory) and display the cumulative size of all files within that node and subnodes. The program will also display the file cumulative file count within that node and subnodes. The program will also display the contents of a chosen directory in a pie or bar graph so that the user can visualize how space is being utilized. This information is useful when determining what directories are taking up the most space on a drive. The information can also be used to determine how to best fit the data on backup media such as CD or DVD. The program features include: Export results to a PDF, HTML, CSV, Excel, and plain text file Explorer-type view for browsing through the results View results in a pie or bar chart Sort results by cumulative file size, cumulative file count, or node name User specified file pattern matching Customizable interface Support for reading entire contents including hidden and system files Windows 9x, ME, NT, 2K, XP support Support for reading properties of large files (those greater than 2.1GB) ...and many other options DiskSurvey is unique because of its graphical and intuitive interface, which is simple to use. There are also additional options for the more advanced user.
