Creating tabs is a snap with Stick's Tab Manager, reached with a right-click of Stick's glue-bottle System Tray icon. I created what Stick calls Navigator Tabs for my oft-visited folders. Then I tweaked the settings (transparency, autohide, autoshow, etc.) to minimize mousing and suit my aesthetics. In short order, tabs for my most important folders were lined up along the top of the screen, ready to spring to attention with a mere mouseover.
Stick's quick and simple installation also gives you the option to add plug-ins for bare-bones utilities: calculator, calendar, RSS reader, etc. They work fine, but you can either decline to install them or try them out and--if you have something else you prefer--delete them from the Tab Manager.
Unlike many desktop utilities, Stick doesn't launch programs or run command-line utilities. It just lines up your folders for you, and it throws in a few basic utilities into the bargain. If your desktop organization needs are simple, Stick is worth a look.
