Editorial Review of My Secure Notepad

Got some information--some very specific information--you don't want anyone to see? Download My Secure Notepad, a delightfully minimalist program. It uses AES encryption to encrypt a text file. A text file. Run it the first time, and enter a password. You get a blank text edit window--no menu bar, no nothin'. You enter text. You save text. To view your text, run the program again, and enter the password you entered the first time. There's your text.

In theory, you could maintain multiple files by using multiple program installs.

Why use My Secure Notepad? First, it is tiny--less than 64K. It will fit on the lowest-end laptop that can run even Windows 95. If you have a fairly well focused thing you need secure--such as a list of password or your plans for the wonderflonium heist--this is an ideal tool. It's pretty much impossible to use it incorrectly. And, hey, it's free.

Note: This link takes you to the vendor's site, where you can download the latest version of the software.
