    Duration of ownership: 6 Months

Strengths: Easy-to-use, clean interface. Basic calendar.

Weaknesses: Lack of an "archive mail" feature (similar to Mozilla Thunderbird and Gmail). Contacts management can be improved. (No way to manually assign photos to contacts. No easy way to merge contacts from different sources; i.e., Gmail and Facebook.)

Overall Evaluation: Overall it's a good e-mail client. Although there are a couple of areas where it can be improved.

    Duration of ownership: 3 Months

    Strengths: none

Weaknesses: It and it's photo sharing feature Skydrive hijacked my ability to share photos from Picasa. I cannot and will not have my friends and family create a Windows Live email account just to be able to receive photos.

Overall Evaluation: Making users ability to share photos impossible without a live email account is unacceptable. This is a dealbreaker for me. I am looking for a desktop email program that works for ME, not MS. Stopping the photo feature in Live Mail doesn't work either, it won't go away!

    Duration of ownership: 0 Months

Strengths: None that I can find

Weaknesses: Doesn't download or work in 64bit Windows 7. In 32 bit the only app that was nice was move maker. Installation of Win 7 Live Essentials results in nothing useful

Overall Evaluation: It really needs a lot of work

    Duration of ownership: 1 Months

Strengths: beauty, handles multiple email accounts, seamless with gmail

Weaknesses: bundled with a large group of products, some not needed

Overall Evaluation: very good, i'm using as my principle email client

    Duration of ownership: 2 Weeks

    Strengths: Not a lot

Weaknesses: Downloaded with new Win 7 Ultimate system. Moved 1000+ contacts and mail from OE. Worked with contacts into groups, etc. Short time later all 1000 contacts disappeared from WLM. Could not find out why. No help available from MS Live or forums. Deleted from sys and installed again. Worked fine for two days when 900+ contacts disappeared again. Couldn't live with problem system so deleted and installed Thunderbird which works fine.

Overall Evaluation: In my experience, this product still has at least one major bug. It is not a proper replacement for Outlook Express. Too bad Win 7 users are forced to find another mail system. If MS gets the problems fixed, it could be a good replacement.

    Duration of ownership: 8 Months

Strengths: None, as compared to Outlook Express

Weaknesses: Definitely not as easy to work with as OE. If OE could work on Windows 7, I would switch in an instant. One of my problems is the fonts, or lack thereof. Only a handful of fonts are available and none can be added.

Overall Evaluation: It's definitely not an upgrade to OE. I cannot understand why conpanies try to upgrade things that already work fine and, by doing so, end up with a downgraded. I mistakenly installed in on my new computer believing that it was a better version. It's not. I would strongly recommend that anyone seeking an email program to look before you leap. This 'update' is definitely not.
