Description of LeakTest
Especially with "always-on" connections such as digital subscriber line and cable, you can't assume that your firewall keeps your data protected. This program simulates the presence and effect of Trojan horses, viruses, and adware/spyware and lets you know whether it was able to slip past your firewall's outbound protections and establish a standard TCP connection with one of the manufacturer's servers. (No personal data is sent, and no record is retained of your use of the program.) If it can establish a connection--which it shouldn't--you'll know that you need better protection against Internet threats.
