Description of Shred-X

Whether it's skateboarding, surfing big waves, or deleting sensitive data, nothing commands the awe of your peer group like doing it the way it ought to be done. This program securely deletes your sensitive data by overwriting the file (up to 35 times) before deleting it and then destroying the File Allocation Table cluster number and size information for that file. The files drop onto a "pad" where you can shred them as needed. You can run the program in schedule mode, in which it automatically invokes Scandisk to ensure that all lost sectors are accounted for and suitably overwritten during a disk clean; it also runs the Disk Defragmenter to remove evidence of the deleted file names from FATs.
