How do you find the correct file type when the file extension is wrong? This utility looks beyond extensions and identifies files by content, taking some of the work out of determining what type of application will open a file. It also extracts extra information about the file, like image resolution, sound file sampling rates, and document titles. It can recognize files that Windows will not and can help you rename incorrect extensions. It will also tell you which programs can open and edit your file type, and will even diplay URLs of Web sites where you can download those applications.
