Description of PADGen
If you're a shareware author, you're probably constantly asked for information regarding your products. PADGen is a database that will allow you to communicate specific and most often requested information regarding your products to the online communities and Web sites. This program uses XML, so data can be easily extracted and parsed by any XML toolkit. There is a free repository where anyone can post their PAD files for Webmasters and others to access. This allows others to easily build content for their online libraries or to use as a search engine when looking for a program.
The PAD file should go in two places. The first is inside your ZIP file so that anyone distributing your software can quickly extract the file and retrieve any information that is pertinent to them. The second is on your website. Best of all, this application is free.
